History
In 1983, the religious pastoral community in Marion County saw a need to provide emergency assistance to individuals and families in crisis. With a minimal group of workers, Interfaith Emergency Services was given birth. For two decades, Interfaith has continued to serve the people of Marion County with sincere Christian love and caring.

Leadership
Interfaith is governed by a Board of Directors composed of clergy, laity and social service representatives, who volunteer their expertise and leadership to obtain our goal of offering assistance and comfort to those who have fallen between the cracks of the social service system.

Staff
The programs of IES are operated with minimal paid staff and a cadre of dedicated volunteers. This allows for the maximum amount of funds to be spent on the clients. Volunteers provide the continuity of the program by the unselfish donation of their time, talents, and spirit to help the least, the lost and the last, who need to know someone cares. Our volunteers are truly Faith in Action.

History
In 2002, IES assisted over 282,000 clients, providing the basic human needs such as food, shelter, clothing, and emergency financial assistance. Churches, synagogues and public service agencies refer clients to IES where they may obtain financial assistance for the purchase of medications, rent, and a variety of other needs to enhance the quality of life for families or individuals. All financial assistance payments are made directly to the provider of service.
YOU CAN HELP to continue helping people in need. Donating your time as a volunteer, or giving your tax deductible donations can make a difference. All donations stay right here in Marion County.
